ADVANCED STUDIO - SEATTLE ACADEMY
This course is for the advanced art student who has been very successful in previous art classes and is interested in the pursuit of knowledge and achievement in the area of visual arts. It is a challenging course to help students reach a higher level of individual expression and skill. This course continues to build upon the foundations of design and principles of art. Students will work in a variety of media/styles, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and develop a portfolio of work. Students will expand their knowledge of art history and current art trends, and will also critique their own and others’ work. Students are encouraged to experiment, take risks, make mistakes, practice and refine their skills. Students must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
